Pharmaceutical Industry Lighting | Productions, Expedition and Stock areas
The Pharmaceutical Industry is also a success story for SX Lighting.
Did you know that the production and distribution of medications adhere to certain regulations? These regulations aim to ensure the integrity of the product and the end user.
One resolution on the topic is RDC 301/19 from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), which establishes minimum requirements to be followed in the manufacturing and storage of medications in Brazil.
Article 67 of the regulation defines that the lighting, temperature, humidity, and ventilation of the facilities must be adequate so as not to directly or indirectly affect the medications during their production and storage, nor the precise operation of the equipment.
Article 66 states that the facilities must be clean and, when necessary, disinfected according to detailed and written procedures.
In other words, there is strict control for infrastructure adequacy and hygiene, and SX Lighting is related to all these requirements.
Taking into account the specificities of various sectors, we have developed luminaires with unique characteristics that can be installed in various environments. In the case of the pharmaceutical industry, for example, a very high standard of aseptic control and correct levels of illuminance are required. The technical characteristics necessary to comply with the regulations of this sector also apply to other demands, which is why we design our products to the highest standard of compliance, suitable for various related sectors.
A common application in logistics warehouses is our industrial High Bay luminaire (SX-LIH).
Used in this successful case in the pharmaceutical sector, our High Bay luminaire, despite its efficiency of up to 171 lm/w, does not emit heat and has constant and directional luminous flux, thanks to its independent optical lenses and state-of-the-art drivers.
The characteristics of this luminaire meet the specifications of RDC 301/19, which stipulate that the lighting, temperature, and ventilation of the facilities must be adequate—requirements that our engineering team considered during the luminaire’s design.
It is important to emphasize that the pharmaceutical industry follows numerous safety protocols for medication manufacturing in order to efficiently fulfill its goal of restoring health. Excessive humidity is one of the serious occurrences that can cause damage to drugs and, consequently, to people who consume the products. Therefore, it is important that thermal control measures be analyzed during the feasibility study of lighting.
Since LEDs do not emit heat, the reduction in thermal load is an additional benefit for industries with controlled environments.
